Take a trip to hell and back in the new Hellboy "Red Band" trailer

Some times, evil enters the world with the sole purpose of destroying it. Other times, it becomes it biggest hero, as is the case with Hellboy. The new "red band" trailer for the reboot dropped and it is a crazy ride to hell and back.

If past trailers haven't made it clear, this one certainly cements the fact that Hellboy is none too happy with his father turning the little demon into a weapon that saves the world from all kinds of terrible and grotesque things that go lurking in the night. Unlike the previous two entries into the franchise from Guillermo Del Toro, this one loses the PG-13 rating and goes hard R-rating.

There are a lot of gory scenes involving creatures getting their limbs cut off by Hellboy and one F-bomb.

It should go without saying that this new movie feels a whole lot bigger than past movies. The creatures are bigger and more menacing while Hellboy will, at one point, ride off on a dragon like he is Khaleesi.

Hellboy arrives in theaters April 12.
