Onward teaser trailer introduces Pixar’s new fantasy world

The upcoming film will tell the story of two brothers who embark on an adventure to discover magic.

With Toy Story 4 arriving in just a few weeks, much of Pixar's attention has been focused on preparing for the movie's release. But the studio has another movie coming soon, and the first teaser trailer has just been revealed.

Not only is Onward an original story, but it features two of the biggest actors in Hollywood: Tom Holland and Chris Pratt. Here's the movie's official plot:

Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar's Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.

As the trailer shows, instead of a world populated by humans, Onward features elves, trolls, mermaids, unicorns, dragons, and other fantasy creatures. In this world, gnomes don't just sit in your garden; they're gardeners.

Apparently, Onward was inspired by the life of director Dan Scanlon, who said he decided to write the movie based on his experiences following his father's death and how that affected him and his younger brother.

In addition to Holland and Pratt, Onward also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer.

Onward hits theaters on March 6, 2020.
