Marvel to bring Ghost Rider and Helstrom shows to Hulu in 2020
These new Marvel shows will come in addition to what has been announced for Disney+.
Marvel Television is bringing two new shows—Ghost Rider and Helstrom—to Hulu in 2020. The upcoming shows will be separate from what Marvel Studios is doing over on Disney+, which includes new series featuring characters like Falcon, Winter Soldier, and Loki.
According to Variety, Ghost Rider will feature Robbie Reyes (played by Gabriel Luna) as the titular antihero, who brings vengeance to those he encounters while struggling with his power. Although the role is being reprised by Gabriel Luna, it'll be separate from the character who showed up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"I couldn't be more excited and honored to be handed the reins to a Marvel character as beloved as Ghost Rider," said Ingrid Escajeda, who will act as showrunner and executive producer.
Helstrom is a little more obscure. Hulu's explains:
Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer in Marvel's Helstrom. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills. Marvel's Helstrom is executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski, who will serve as showrunner and Marvel's Jeph Loeb.
Ghost Rider and Helstrom will join Hulu's third season of The Runaways.
If you're a Marvel fan, the announcement of these two shows means you'll have plenty of content to watch over the next few years, as audiences try to fill the void now that Avengers: Endgame has been released.
